I was strumming around on my AL HH whilst it was unplugged the other day and I was really impressed at how alive and resonant it was. That must account for why it sounds so alive when amplified.

It's funny because I have several 'other brand' high end guitars and they look great but sound nowhere near as good as the AL unplugged.

MM really nailed it with the AL.

Agreed. I think mine is the loudest guitar I have. There's this sweetness to the midrange too, which turns into that huge KRAAAANG when you do an open chord with overdrive. Fantastic wood and pickup combo!

Funny you mention this, I tend to mess/attempt to play mine and because it's usually after the family has gone to bed, I will use it unplugged. I've found that all of my MM's sound excellent unplugged.

The AL HH has great resonance. I had an AL HH with the rosewood neck and was very surprised that the AL HH with roasted maple neck I got after that was even more resonant.

I played my ALHH last night, and there was a few times I had the guitar feeding back with the amp and the whole guitar was literally shaking! Its one resonant guitar, that's for sure!
