Are these pick up proprietary like EVH/Axis? If so, does anyone know if dimarzio offers a comparable version? I want to load a set into a project I'm working on...

Wow; really??? They sound so much better in the AL. Maybe we need an axis with a mahogany body then...

I don't agree with better - different but better is subjective. I own both for my ears it doesn't get better than a good Axis.

EB is very proud of those pups because they have used them in the last few guitars they have come out with. I do agree that sounding better in the HH AL is subjective. What you are hearing is the various tone frequencies that certain wood combos accentuate. The 25th/Reflex, A.S.S. and HH AL all sound different thanks to their wood cocktails but each sound awesome.
