I'm not sure what I'm going to do just yet, but the Surf Green AL HH hardtail I kind of bought by mistake is not getting much play at all. I strung it with those "Nashville" strings that, when played along with a regularly tuned sixer, gives you a rather interesting 12 string sound but I hardly ever use those tones.

The Orange Crush Al is the only thing I play these days. I need that whammy bar to make it seem like I know what I'm doing, so the hardtail sits. It's a shame because it's a hot rod and that rosewood neck is SWEET.

So, shockingly, I'm thinking I might sell it. My question is: what's a fair price? Not looking to make a killing and I won't entertain lowball offers (I'd rather keep it) but the prices I've seen on similar guitars are all over the map. It's in excellent shape, HSC, never abused, only driven to church by a grandmother, etc etc.

What would you pay for a guitar like this? Not that I'm asking you to buy it, but what's reasonable?

I've bought a few AL's used over the last 10 years (8 or 9?). IMHO, the asking prices on Reverb have just been stupid the last couple of years. Evidenced by the fact that few of them sell until the price lowers. GC used still offers more 'realistic' prices usually. Anyways, considering the price increases on everything recently, for a standard production AL I'd say around $1500 +/- would a 'realistic' asking price... Start at the high end and see what happens...
Again, just my opinion...

Hi Jack, sorry to hear your letting go of the Green AL, but I get it the Orange Crush is the bomb and if it rocks your world that's all that matters.

xjbebop is right the best range to sell it is around that point, take into fact the condition and such and I would start on the higher side, but keep it open to offers, you'll get low ballers no matter what, but you might get some just slightly below and in your range.

Good luck, Glenn |B)

Well, I used it on a track today for a 12 string simulation and now I think I'm insane for considering letting it go.
But thanks, lads. I may do it yet!
