Pug told me about that concert and of course from the posts you made on the forum it seemed like a great show to see. Fantastic too that he played your AL on the night.
I'd love to get to see him play with Bill Wymans Band.
Incidentally one of the finest guitarists in Cardiff played in Bill Wymans band a Guitarist called Mickey Gee who you used to be able to see regularly playing in Cardiff pubs until he suffered badly with chest problems playing in the smoky atmosphere.

Mickey has a picture of him and AL together with a touching tribute written by AL.
Mickey is one hell of a gutarist and has gone down in folklore-
He met his idol Chet Atkins who was amazed to see Mickey play one of his numbers.
Chet said .."How the hell do you do that Mickey, I had to multitrack that in the studio!!!"
Now we have a smoking ban in Wales I hope that Mickey recovers to wow the locals again.

He was also the guitarist with Joe Cocker and stories go that it was Mickey not Jimmy Page who came up with the famous riff to that song.

Andy - did you ever get to play with him?

I do hope he starts gigging again - people in Cardiff just don't realise what a nugget we have !!

Now why did that remind me of this ....

Many years ago the bass player was in awe as on the same bill was well to me an old woman. He was ga ga and could not take his eyes off her.
I said that she was a lot older than the girls he usually chased after.

He said "Don't ya know who that is ??" It's Nancy Whiskey singing Freight train. (and I'm certainly railroading my own thread here!)

Played with strippers on another bill but never Bernard Manning!!
