Albert Lee & Hogan's Heroes -

"This is Albert Lee's Cleveland, Ohio appearance as he comes to the USA to perform at Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival in Chicago.

Albert will be performing with his band, Hogan's Heroes. This multi-talented band features some of the top musicians in the UK. Hogan's Heroes was formed by their namesake Gerry Hogan over 20 years ago, specifically to back Albert Lee. They have become one of the tightest units in music."
Albert Lee and Hogans Heroes Tickets are $20.00. Showtime is 9pm.

Last night's show maybe the best concert I've ever attended. 2.15 hrs of blazing classics and originals. Albert's Hogan's Heros are a fantastic band. The mix was great too.

Albert played his BFR (3-single pickups w/tremolo) through a Musicman Amp. I didn't take any pics. If you get a chance to see him, go!

I was there also. Got there a half hour before Albert and and hour before his equipment got there. Their truck broke down and they had to rent a Penske truck to get their equipment to the gig. The show started 90 minutes late but it was worth it for me because I got to help Albert and the band unload their truck. This night was a treat because it was a chance to watch Albert up close as it was a small venue with less than 100 people there. Figure that one out! It was interesting to see that even world class musicians sometimes go through the same headaches that weekend warriors like myself go through, vehicle breakdowns, rushing to set up, having to tear down afterward without roadies, getting home at 3 or 4 in the morning. Despite this, Albert was jaw dropping as usual and the band was awesome. Afterward Albert sat down at a table, signed autographs and talked to everybody. What a gentleman, being no youngster he had to be dead tired on a night like this. Most other "Guitar Gods" would have been out of there in a flash. Standing in line I had to laugh at the hero worship fueled by alcohol demeanor of some of the people in front of me when they got to meet the man. It was basically "AAAAHHHH! WOW! HOLY %$&* I LOVE YOU ALBERT!!! Definitely a night to remember. Sure hope that they play the US again.

Yeah, amazing and he was on a tight schedule in transit to another gig followed by Clapton's Crossroads. I read a Crossroads review and Albert offered a clinic, performance, autograph signing, and participated in the final jam. Then, off to another gig the next day.

He's one of the best in my book. I'll never forget that performance. I've never played an AL, but hope to someday.

a few years ago my first introduction to Albert Lee was at a clinic at my local shop. I had no idea who he was (hanging head in shame) but after a few minutes of talking to him prior i could tell that i really liked him- just an all around great guy. After the show I had another opportunity to talk a bit more with him and was just blown away with how genuine he is...

i've never seen a show with his band... but if he's ever in town i will do all that i can to get there.
