Anyone here ever owned or played an Albert Lee model with piezo? If I ordered one of these I wonder how I'd manage without a selector switch like the JP and ASS. It just appears to have a blend knob...?
i just got one and i like it a lot....i imagine that having a switch to go from magnetic to piezeo would be pretty handy though?
Hey, thanks Spud. The A/B box is a great idea! I've got the GAS baaaaad now.
I was originally plumping for a JP but I can only afford one new guitar. Can the P90-loaded AL generate enough signal for metal tones thru a hi-gain amp? I should wait until the Music Live show to try one out before making any fast decisions.
Yep, you can totally do this- wouldn't be that difficult and you wouldn't have to to drill a hole in the p/g. Or you could just put in a mini-toggle in addition to the other controls.Indeed. I wonder how hard it would be to replace the mag tone control with a selector switch (I don't use them much anyway).
I need an actual switch to be able to switch in the middle of a song from Mag to Piezo.Try this. Pete is a forum member, dealer and great guy.

Thank you for your response. I really do appreciate you taking the time to explain. I am very new to playing Piezo stereo guitars. What I am trying to accomplish is going out of the single stereo out from the guitar to a switch. out to 2 different amps. There are a bunch of ways to do this, depending on whether you're using a single TRS output from your guitar vs. 2 outputs, 1 amp for both or separate amps, whether you want the signals blended, the rest or your signal chain, etc.
Basically you need something like a stereo A/B switch where you can route each side separately (with different options depending on the above factors).
Something like this might do the trick:

You could also build something to do it, either as a switch or a blend pedal, depending on your soldering skills![]()
