I'd spend some time trying it out and experimenting wihe the stock pups, which do sound very nice. If nothing else, this will give you a good referefnce point from where you are, and allow yaou to compare to where you want to end up, tone wise. I went round and round a few times and only twice decided to swap out stock pups that were not getting me whee I wanted to be. Every other instance I was able to get there with amp settings and pedal board tweaks. Have fun going through it all, it's the experimenting with sound that makes us better at appreciating more of what we have at our disposal, than just throwing cash away by doing a quick swap.

Exactly. It is at the luthier at the moment having the nut cut and general set up. It will be used and loved. I am considering changing the hamburger for something a bit hotter. Someone suggested a suhr doug aldrich. I was thinking maybe the dimarzio crunch lab. I'm not sure what is in there as stock it's a bit weak for my taste.... I'm just worried about taking the pick guard off in case any paint comes with it......

Congrats on getting that. You in the UK?
You will be fine taking off the pickguard- take out the screws and voila!

Ha ha ha ha. I cant believe my phone came up with hamburger for humbucker! Classic. I spoke to the guys at SIMMs yesterday just to make sure that the pick guard was removable without destroying the outrageous paint job. Yes I am in the UK. I have tried many pups in my time and... Maybe I will spend a little time with the stock... the problem is my prs, pgm.... the list goes on... are all set up with Dimarzios / Duncans high outputs so my set-up it just plug in and go... changing all the setting every time I want to play the musicman.... we'll see. TBH I did not play it that much before I gave it Nige for a set-up. Currently it will be going through a blackstar HT60 with a digitech 2120 in the loop. Sounds chipper!
