Sorry folks, THIS MAKING A LIVING THING IS KILLING ME! I really didn't mean to tease, but it took until yesterday for me to even be able to open it up with my rig!
Quick thoughts on its Tone: My Number One is a Silhouette Special with Wagner SRs, which can cut pretty much anything other than a metal gig. If I use my current amp settings, plugging in "Allison" the AL just sounds like lots more of everything. The twang stays, the snap is there, it's just fatter/thicker in spades. Still tweezing pickup heights, as I'm not thrilled with neck+middle yet. Neck alone is amazing! Bridge alone is amazing and not harsh! Bridge+middle is to kill for, esp. for rhythm playing. Biggest surprise: The middle-alone is a great tone, and one I never use on my Silo, which has been rewired to favor neck+bridge instead of middle-alone. I've got a Stellartone Tonestyler tone system going into it tomorrow which should knock it right out of the park. Still, I haven't had a chance to rehearse or play-out with it, so I'm dying to hear how it sits in a band mix. This could become my new Number One!
I'll try and get my photog buddy over today for pics, as I don't have a digital camera. Still, photos do not do it justice. Everyone who sees it wants to buy it on the spot. I've only bought four guitars in my life without playing them: My PRS Hollowbody II Artist Piezo, and my two (used to be three) Musicmans. Pretty good endorsement!
Pics to follow, REALLY!!!! Sorry again for the tease; I'd normally just be quiet about things until I had the full story, but this axe is very inspiring!-Eric

Eric,

That’s quite a testimony and review. Please let us know more about your findings as you get further into the guitar. I love “bigger and fatter and more in your face”.

And of course, pictures!

When I first moved out here to Vegas I brought my MM90 AL to Pat's Desert Music and they had me run it through a Marshall stack. The first comment from Larry, who is an awesome tech btw, was that the guitar sounded very round and full. The MM90's should be legendary:)

Lance - you are a cad and a bounder sir and I challenge you to a duel at dawn !!!!!
I will rescind this if you post pictures of your LEAL !!!
PLEASE ????? :D

I'd do it if I were you Lance. I don't think you want to perturb the ALOC Sergeant-at-Arms Spudmurphy. An angry Spud is not a pretty sight ;)

So lets get those pictures up now.:D

Remember Lance, your decoder ring and secret password are still being held hostage until we actually see photographic evidence of this so called "LEAL". Not to mention the bitterness of the wrath of Spud you'll have to suffer, he is wuite an adequate dueller. (The man just does not sleep well unless he can match a pic with a guitar).

Once had a girlfriend who was a tease...she's long gone but I'm getting your frustration folks! I'm trying again for this weekend for a photo shoot. Found some Q-Parts Strat-style knobs with ebony inlaid in the tops; makes her look like a serious custom shop piece. Still haven't even had time to try her with my band! Heck, I bought a Boss BR-600 recorder a week ago, and haven't even listened to the demo song yet. There has got to be an alternative to working for a living...-Eric

Sweet. This weekend. BTW, Spud is now in the states and is heading for Toronto. My understanding is that he will be appearing on your doorstep Sunday at midnight with two packages. The first contains a pair of brass knuckles, an empty EBMM gig bag, a Nikon digital camera and a remote access wireless connection for his laptop. The other package contains a decoder ring, a pamphlet of secret passwords and a 6 pack of Guinness. We're all hoping the second package gets delivered.
