Out of curiosity, can you ask for "alder only"?Beth said:While it does state that the body of the bass is "selected hardwoods" meaning it could be ash and it could be alder, I would say at least 95% of the body wood on StingRays is ash. Let your dealer know you want it specified on the order and I'll make sure it gets marked as one "ash only".

Where do I send my deposit? Or, do you need the whole chunk of change for an order like this?
I'm not joking!!!

I am so happy I started out playing righty, even if it was only because it didn't occur to me you could play south paw.
As a lefty, I was fortunate that when I took up bass, my bro'/teacher plainly warned me. That's why I evangelize to lefty newbies to avoid the abyss, cuz I owe it back to others for the benefit I received.strummer said:Ah, so that's what desperation sounds like![]()

ive played an sr5 in that color/wood combo, was worn like a nice old 60's jazz, the color was more creme and a few dings...sounded and played so nice...although i think the SR5 would look alot hotter with a gold/mirror scratchplate....how come you dont see more stingray's worn like jaco's jazz?Moondog said:That's the 1st time I've seen that SR5 combination.
Man, that IS real nice . . and I'm a rosewood guy.
