Skip to about 1:15. He's warming up with an ASS with MM90s. I found this documentary on Youtube, which I think is from the second disc of Rush In Rio, and I thought this was cool.

I’ve never seen it here before. Thats the clip I searched for hours one day to find. In Slav’s old thread “Who would you like to see playing a Ball” I posted Alex Lifeson playing an Axis. Rob later posted that he had seen just that.

These are my hometown boys. Lifeson was a major influence on me when I first started playing guitar.

He plays so many guitars, I would love to see him add an Axis to his live show.

Rush just got a star on Hollywood Walk Of Fame today. Of course, in typical Neil Peart fashion, he didn't make it because he was on a motorcycle road trip.
I got this DVD, I wish Lifeson would use more EBMM, but I think he prefers thicker necks for his style of grip. This DVD is insane with footage of the massive Brazilian audience.

He briefly plays one in an episode of The Trailer Park Boys, too.

I love that show, a true Canadian institution... just like Nickelback.

I’ve seen the episode where Ricky kidnapped Alex, but he was asked to play Diane Sawyer on a cheap acoustic.
Then there was Bubbles playing a roadie for Rush. Same show? I think not.
Don’t know how I missed that one as I believe I’ve seen them all.

Pretty cool though that Lifeson plays an Axis for warm-up.

So “Beyond The Lighted Stage” is out?

I saw it advertised for like $17 last Friday.

That scene where Bubles was a Rush roadie was filmed at the ACC in Toronto, I was there, everyone was in for a surprise when Alex went for a guitar change and Bubles came out with the guitar.
On a side note, a bass player friend and I went to the show that nite and got loaded with sushi and sake, we go there late, I remember walking in the venue and the first thing I heard was the opening chords to "Tom Sawyer", that was unforgettable. I grew up on Rush but never got to see them live until that ACC show.

Beyond the Lighted Stage is a great documentary. If you are a rabid Rush fan (like me) you will love it.

I find it absolutely amazing that Geddy & Alex have been best friends since Junior High School. Both learned to play their instruments at a phenomenal level, wrote one great album after another, toured for years and years.... and still remain best of friends. Then you throw in the Professor into the mix: the drumming, the lyrics....

Just an awesome all around band and a marvel of consistency (despite even the most tragic of instances) in Rock and Roll.

I’ve lost count how many times I’ve seen them.

In the early days with 3 or 4 albums out, they started to play Maple Leaf Gardens every New Year's Eve for about 5 years.
Some opening acts were Max Webster, Triumph and a lot that I just can’t remember.

Not only is Beyond The Lighted Stage released on DVD tomorrow...it was shown on TV all weekend. It's an excellent documentary, and I'll be buying the DVD as well tomorrow. I'm not surprised Neil didn't make it to the Hollywood Walk induction ceremony...he doesn't mingle with fans at all, which I totally understand and he explains why in the documentary.

Rush is one of my all time favorites and the testimonials from all these different people in the film really bring home the impact they have had not just with fans like me...but other world class musicians who give them the props they very much deserve.

Azazael- don't bust anyone's balls for contributing to the forum.

I'd love to see Alex play an EBMM again. Talking to Glenn Booth (Ontario EBMM rep) last summer, sounded like he was working to get a few to Alex.

I love those guys. Grace Under Pressure was the first tour I ever saw, I haven't missed a show since. Looking forward to them in a few weeks.

For an unknown reason, in France Rush does not have the success it deserves. Thus, no show in France :(

I will have to go to Germany to see them in concert. Rush in Rio is one of my favorite DVD. It's crazy to see the crowd singing and dancing during YYZ !
