Almost had a heart attack!

I got an email today from my wife stating...

"This morning soon after you left I heard a big bang upstairs and it freaked me out. I got the courage to go up there, because my first thought was someone was in the house. As I reached the top of the stairs I saw your bass had fell on the desk....the case fell forward and made a big bang. I'm sure your bass is fine."

I've been playing my 20th SR5 lately, so the Bongo is on the wall above my desk...the case was leaning against the wall opposite the desk and it fell. She didn't know that the Bongo was on the wall and not in the case...

However, how did the bass fall??? Where was your wife when it happened???
Did she call 911 immediately??? Can we dust it for finger prints???

Lucky! Sometimes though it pays to keep your bass in the case. A few years back my house got robbed and the thief stole my bass and guitar that were hanging on the wall. Right next to the door sat my 1965 fender jazz in its case. The thief didn't know about cases and left it setting. That night I was lucky because I would have had a heart attack had my beloved jazz been stolen. I have had it since I was 18. I keep it locked up now. It has been my favorite possesion for 34 years.

Damn, scary story...and I keep all my basses on the wall! Maybe I should rethink that.

Actually they should be fine, they are on the wall above my bed.
