ALs are so hard to find

I checked five or six of my local dealers and while they have some Silos, JPs and Axis there was not even one Albert Lee. I simply don't get why AL is not being stocked...

I asked my local dealer about an AL years ago. He said they had never even had one in stock. They could order one but it'd be 6-8 months to come in. I passed and found one used.

Went to a GC during my original quest too. Drove 3 hours and found....not a single AL. Petrucci's galore... They didn't even offer to order one. Were very unhelpful.

I'm getting ready to start my hunt for a HH model. We'll see how this turns out.

This was my experience as well when I was in LA and SF a few months back.

There was one at the Hollywood GC but I was a day too late. A knucklehead here bought it before I had a chance to even see it!

I'm hoping the HH Al will be a good seller. This guitar should get noticed.

Tough times, true. But let's be honest: it's quite a turnaround that shops are stocking tons of Petrucci, Axis, even Luke models. Not long ago, most shops didn't even know EBMM made guitars!

the reason you can't find them is because Rob owns them all . Actually call Pete DuBaldo, he has a few in stock and is doing some great deals on the Al's at the moment.

I've never seen one in a shop in the UK, which probably explains why I haven't got one!

Saw a brand new one and a second hand one in Cardiff guitars, also saw a very old Black (second hand) one in Cranes Music Cardiff for £750. and of course recently the MM90 one in Bath.

DuBaldo's has 2 MM90 Als right now. They had 2 SSS Als on clearance and they went fairly quickly. Some of the used deals right now on this site are very tempting. Also, check Guitar Center's used section. I played the vintage burst hardtail at the Manchester CT GC and it's quite nice with decent amount of birds eye on the neck. If it had a trem, I might not have left it in the store.

Flores Music in Peoria has one. I believe it's a BFR with a Rosewood neck. The body is Black Cherry Burst with a black pickguard. I'm sure they would be happy to sell it. They do put stuff on ebay, so I know they're not opposed to shipping guitars.

I'm not a huge fan of the AL, but I even like this one.

That's been the case since I joined this forum. The AL always seemed to get the least pub and the least love. they were not widely stocked and the look is an "acquired taste" which made even the ones that were available not the first thing people would pull off the shelf. Plus, many people don't necessarily know the name of one of the great country pickers of all time.

So we try and spread the word with the attitude that if you could get someone to try one they would see what the rest of the zealots were chirping about. And if you notice, its been working. AL owners tend to a passionate bunch once they realize what they have. And if this leads to more people trying the guitar which leads to more people ordering the guitar which may lead to more places stocking the guitar so much the better.

I believe the AL will always be somewhat of a niche guitar, but the ALOC is still just trying to spread the love one guitar at a time.

Try it, you'll like it.....Trust me

If I were designing an A.L., this is what I would put on it:

-Ash body
-Black with matching headstock
-Rear loaded with no pickguard
-Open coil humbuckers mounted ala the Axis
-Vintage MM trem with graphite bridge saddles

That's just me though.

Yep not the most commonly stocked guitar, while I have owned a few, I have only seen one in stock and thats was at GC 3 years ago, hopefully the new 2h AL will change that.

Did it have an all Rosewood neck? If not and based on your description, it sounds like a home modded standard AL.
