That would be great if it's actually the case, but EBMM's dealer agreement is quite strict regarding shipping their products to another country, so I find this hard to believe.

GC does ship to Canada. I think it started a few months back. The problem is that the shipping cost will run around $200.00+ Handleing. Because Music Man
is made in the U.S.A, You wont pay any Duty Tax because of the NAFTA agreament. You will pay an HST tax though. So it's not worth it really. It's better to find a Local Music Man dealer. You can order any guitar through a Music Man dealer and pay about the same cost as GC anyways. Right now the Canadian Dollar is at Par, So it's better to shop where you live. Hope this helps.

I'm well aware that GC ships to Canada and so does MF, but not all of the products that either of them would have you believe. Many manufacturers have strict dealer agreements that prohibit their dealers from exporting new product to another country. Why, to protect the dealer network in each country from being poached by foreign competitors.

If GC is exempt from this portion of EBMM's dealer agreement, they must be the only one's who are.

PS - I've tried to buy new in-stock MM products from USA dealers and have them ship to Canada, but i've been shot down by each dealer i've asked. In addition I was advised that the factory warranty would be voided if they did.

There are authorized Music Man Ebay dealers that ship to Canada. You can even pre order an instrument. The only reason to do so? I have no clue. You would be paying about $400.00 more than if you just ordered and or bought from your Local Authorized GTA Music Man store. Maybe the only reason would be limited run Guitars from Guitar Center. Then if that was the case I would go to New York-Buffalo- to play the guitar mysef and drive it over the border and pay the HST tax right at the border. If there is something you like at Guitar Center, If they dont have it and another store does. They will ship from a GC to another GC. Good Luck

I ordered my Bongo5 from Long & Mquade and the price was no more then what I would have paid in the U.S. It worked out really well. There is an L&M in pretty much every major Canadian city so really no reason to try and buy in the US unless you are in a hurry and trying to find a bass right now.

Ha. I wouldn't mind paying $400 more if I can custom order it.
Hell. I'll even pay shipping as well.

Why would you pay $400 more? Canadians can order the same custom made Music Man guitars for the same price as in the states. The only reason for a
Canadian to drive one across the border is for a one off colour or a limited addition Guitar Center MM guitar.

USA dealers are not allowed to sell/ship new EBMM products internationally. If there is an ebay store located in the USA that sells/ships to Canada, they are doing so in violation of their dealer agreement with Ernie Ball and are risking having their account terminated.

Thank you Nick for confirming what I said at the top of this thread.

So, it was specifically ordered for you. It was a configuration of available options, that's why I say it isn't custom. Although, there would be an up-charge for the rosewood neck.
