You guys caught the latest Alter Bridge CD?

Got to say I love it - Ties That Bind has the best riff I've heard for a long time, Rise and Blackbird both come across as a huge step forward in their writing skills.

What do you think?

I just heard it at rehearsal the other day... I think it rocks. The opening track alone is worth the price of admission...

Hey Dave,

I'm really enjoying the new CD. I enjoyed the first one, too. Glad to see Mark Tremonti is expanding on his guitar ability with the last 2 Alter Bridge cd's. As opposed to what he did with Creed. Seems like he was held back when he was in Creed.

Mark Tremonti is the man. Howabout that dual guitar solo in Blackbird? Myles can rip too!

The new CD is sick. I absolutely love it. Myles definitely has some good chops. I love the slide stuff he does in Rise Today. I also noticed in that video that P*S's shade of Metallic Green is a bit like a Dargie.

Tremonti is awesome, I'm so glad Alter Bridge is sticking around. Creed may have put Tremonti and the boys on the map but they are such a harder rocking band with Myles as the frontman instead of Stapp.

TREMONTI is underated.

Blackbird is soo bad ass

I went to watch them in the Camden Underworld, which was cool cus my band played there a few nights before!

PS Stapp preaches to much with religious sub context in his music and Creed Lyrics. got a little lame after a while Bridge are just all about kick ass rock

I disagree. As a diehard Creed fan for many years, I don't believe Scott Stapp's lyrical content was preachy at all. I feel he wrote from his own experience, and what he knew was an opressive religious upbringing. Bear in mind, Tremonti has a 50/50 songwriting credit, and was known to contribute much to the lyrical process. I know for a fact that he isn't overly religious.

Dont get me wrong Creed were cool, but I just prefer Alter Bridge.

And this is no dig at Tremonti cus he is one of my fave contemproary players.

I just think Stapp

Six feet form the edge, my own prison, my sacrifice, my this, my aching that

it was all about his pain and trouble a lot of the time. Tremonti and Stapp never got on well.

They were a fantastic band of their time but i think that AB are more diverse in what they cover.

That was one of Tremonti's major gripes with Stapp anyway.

Blackbird is one of the best heavy albums of the decade in my opinion.

Alter bridge seems a little more positive in its content.
