Thanks man, i shall take your advice and try it when i get my hands on a valentine. Next time i'm restringing i'll get a set of cobalt 10s on my albert to give em a whirl. OR i'll buy a set of 10s Paradigms and cover both bases at once :)

I tried 12s on my mates Blade and it felt bizzare! I also have the hands of a child so... - which is why i love ernie necks as they suit the smaller handed LOL

Lol, yeah, takes a little while for the hands to adjust. 12's would be a bit much, but would probably be okay over time. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Incubus' guitarist switched to rocking the AL when he was having wrist problems. He was talking about how easy the EBMM were to play. I do love the look of the AL and that might be my next EBMM. lol. I'm already anticipating more EBMM's in the future.

Rock on brother!

Even better: when you're stretching and warming your fingers up while you wait. I always do that. Even when it's an amp

Let us know how the first date goes!

Yeah, I'm lucky because I'm a music teacher for grades 1-5 and I get to play guitar all day. I have my tele here today and have been showing my students the EBMM. They can't wait for me to bring it in. Fingers stretched and ready to groove. I will shoot an umboxing vid for my channel. I don't know why but I like watching those and sharing in the excitement. lol.

Rock on!

First off, welcome to the EBMM family!
As far as string gauges go, that's a very personal matter. The only 'right' or 'wrong' strings are what feel 'right' to each individual's hands and each individual guitar.
For example, I've got a couple of gittars that are "supposed" to run 11's. Just doesn't work for me, so I'll try 10's and even 9's until I'm happy...

True, even though I have 10's on most of my guitars, I do have one Gibson with 11's. Just feels better like that. And now the Valentine comes with 11's too. :)

Well, how is it? :)

Well, that is a great question. lol. So, I have a big box from Sweetwater with a brand new Valentine unopened.

I want to shoot an unboxing video with my little 2 year old son helping me. We are selling are house and it has been nuts. Had to be out the door for 3 showings last night and he fell asleep in the car and then the wife had to go to work.

So, tonight will be opening it for sure and shooting a vid for my YT channel. It was killing me not being able to open it, but I can swing one more day, barely. haha.

Will post back tomorrow and get the vid up shortly there after. I get paid to do music for a living, so will definitely get some major playing time in on it tomorrow too.

I hadn't heard hat about Incubis, but will say it's the finest guitar over played - way better than my skill level deserves!

Okay, EBMM family. Opened the box with my 2 year old son trying to grab my cameras and everything else. lol. I gotta say this guitar is a ridiculous piece of art that is meant to be played. I will scrap together some edits of the footage to show everyone and do a proper demo of the Valentine.

The case is awesome and even says "Valentine" on it which I thought was pretty cool. The neck on this guitar is amazing!!! I have a 97 C shaped American Strat, 2014 Deluxe Strat with a soft V neck, a 72 Deluxe Tele with a sanded C shape neck, and the Valentine neck is one of the nicest I have ever played. Again, the word "ridiculous" comes to mind. And, I mean this in every great way imaginable.

I didn't even plug it in because I wanted to just feel how it resonated in my hands. The frets are incredible and 2 step bends are easy as pie with the stock 11's on. Every string resonated with such a brilliance, I can only imagine what it will sound like when I run it through an amp. The roasted maple necks are a sight to behold, and the Trans Buttermilk finish with the wood grains showing slight through is the shizznit! I dig the necks feel too because it almost has that sanded bare wood feel even though it has the EBMM style of finish. I

It's setup perfectly for just about any style of music and felt great with a pick and amazing with just my fingerstyle riffs. Just play a little percussive fingerstyle progression with it unplugged and it's resonance and feel will make you smile from ear to ear.

I'm sure that I will be adding much more in this forum to come as I bond with my new mate.."biscuits" lol

The only thing I worried about was that I would love the Valentine so much, I would stop playing my other gits for awhile. I do love the Valentine that much, but it completely sits in it's own slot and doesn't make me not want to play my other guitars which are awesome in their own right.

All in all, I just got an amazing new tool for my work and it's going to used on everything I do. When I get into work tomorrow, I will probably log about 7 plus hours on it. haha.

Oh, and don't hate me, but did I tell you my brother bought this for me? haha. I think he's paying me back for adding him to my writing team for my tv show. lol. He is that good of a writer though.

Rock on my peeps, and I think this will be the first of many EBMM's to come. The Valentine is an incredible guitar that should be double the cost in my eyes. Check it out!
