I might be standing very alone here... but I think the 20th Silo does not look very good...

Of course it's a great player but it reminds me of a low cost Schechter appearance wise.

Well, I guess it al depends on personal taste really... I think it looks great, it looks quite different from the original Silhouette. I think it looks really classy, and the colour choice couldn't have been better...

It's OK if you don't really like the looks, as long as you know that it sounds great!! :D

I don't like the appearance of the 20th either. But that doesn't matter, plenty of people do, and that's really all that counts. If BP made only one guitar, there would be problems, but with all the varieties of shapes, colours and configurations available to us Canuckleheads and Knuckleheads, no one (not even BP) can expect EVERYBODY to love them all. Choice is a wonderful thing, and people shouldn't expect everyone else to agree with their choice...at least not all the time...;)

I'm not really crazy about it's looks either, but man that thing plays and sounds great! I remember the first time that I've seen the Petrucci guitars. Being born and raised on Strats I thought the JPs were hideous. Then after picking one up and playing it, it all made sense. Now they're the most beautiful guitars on the planet.

Horses for courses isn't it?

I don't like the looks of some taylors, but I wouldn't go onto their forum and start a thread about it....

Like Rob said, there are plenty of other great EBMM's to look at, see what takes your fancy. All of them play and soud great.

I can get "it's not my cup of tea" or "it doesn't give me wood", but "it looks cheap"?

That's weak. How about "it has cooties"? or "my dad can beat up your silo"?

jonyq,

Of course this is an EBMM board so you experience some wrath for that comment.
You have to keep in mind that it's a 20th anniverary and therefore would represent something classic. Which is therefore not very flashy. If guitars or anything were gauged by their looks, then a lot of times we'd all be disappointed.
Personally I prefer the look of the regular Silo. But I will admit that you do have to see one in person. They are very beautiful in their own right.
If you gauge your opinion by something that is seen on eBay then they always look terrible there.
I'm not trying to change your mind but do what want to give you a more educated change to do so.
Here's are some proper pics, which I happen to think are just beautiful! :)

Looks place a distant forth for me, with playability and comfort #1, build quality #2, and tone #3 (as that can easily be modded). I think all Balls are good looking guitars, including the 20th. What I like most about the looks of MM guitars is that they're individual, unlike so many also-rans found elsewhere.

this is fine. Truth be told there are some colors that I dont get at all but you have to satisfy a diverse and international customer base...
The tricky part about running a guitar business is to understand the it isnt solely about you while at the same time making sure that your design integrity and philosophy is able to be translated into models that can appeal to some.....Not everybody likes everything!
