If the owners of these 20ths are unhappy please email me at [email protected] and I will put them in my vault. Simply breathtaking and they sound awesome...

I'll admit that when it was first introduced, I didnt like it much. But, as I saw it more and more, and saw other peoples 20ths, it grew on me. Now I'd actually like one. As for the 24 frets thing, the original Silhouette also has 24 frets, so it's fitting that the anniversary Silhouette would also

All I'll say is play one! I wasn't in love with the looks of them either at first, but Colin was good enough to lend me his for a few days to try out and I'm in love, the tone is amazing!!! Now I'm trying to work out which organ I can sell so that I can buy it (we only need one kidney, right)

You know, originally it didn't grab me as much as it does now, but over time it has really grown on me.

In the flesh they look great (at least they do in my opinion) but the sound is to die for...

I think its Great looking gtr. Especially the flame tops. What I wished it had was either 5 way switching or a coil tap. With just 3 way switching I like seperate volume controls for the pickups unless the p/ups become tapped in the middle position like the JP gtrs.

A coil tap is an easy self mod. I've been considering doing that to mine.

I couldn't care less if someone doesn't like the looks of the 20th Ann. Silo or thinks it looks cheap.

That's one less person with whom I have to compete to get another one.

Am I the only one who doesn't really get the looks of the 20th Silo?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say "No, you're not the only one."

I'll give you this: you might be the only one to post it to the official manufacturer's forum.

But I keep asking myself - 'What did he want to hear?'

Something like, "Yes, you're the only human on earth, the only being in the entire universe, in fact, who doesn't 'really get' the 20th Silo!"

I just can't come up with what you expected to see people say.

When the Bongos were first released, believe me, a TON of people had plenty to say about the design. Okay. Maybe the Bongo isn't for everyone. I was kind of a crusader and thought everyone should STFU and give it a shot; some did, some didn't, life goes on and I learned some things along the way.

I'm thinking that if you're really lucky and paying attention, you might learn something from this thread.

I mean, I'm a moderator and all that here on the forum, but let's be realistic. Are there EBMM instruments that I "don't really get"?

Sure. But I take the same approach that I take on, say, TalkBass. The same thing my momma taught me when I was but a wee lad. And that is, "If you don't have anything nice to say...."

Why rain on someone else's parade?

I have opinions, of course - about Fender, Lakland, Gibson, you name it. But I don't go the Gibson forum and say, "Am I the only one who thinks Gibson hasn't built a decent bass guitar - ever?"

I'm probably not the only person to ever have that thought, frankly, but what's my payoff?
