Hi!!

Currently I own 3 EBMM guitars... all JP models ;) : 1 2005 LE Buttercream with original bridge pickup, 1 BFR Blue Bahama Burst and the last one a 2008 LE.

Although these are all fantastic guitars, I must admit that my favorite in the 2008 LE with D-Sonic... even compared to the BFR...

First the sound.. it seems more balanced, punchy and dark to my ears, which is strange because of the mahogany tone block. Personally I'm earing more the alder type of sound on the BFR.

Then i like the scooped armrest better... and the unfinished neck

I play a lot my BFR and don't get it wrong I LOVE all my EBMM guitars...

But I didn't see any similar comment here... so Am I the only one to slightly prefer the regular JP model over the BFR model??

:)

I'm sure there are others who prefer the regular model, especially because of the unfinished neck. I've never played a BFR so I can't really comment, but I love my JP to death. Playing other guitars just makes me realize how perfect the guitar is haha.

yup you're the only one!

My BFR is a 'different animal' to my other balls, there are things that make unique, some I prefer to stock some I wish weren't there - be greatful you have the choice!
