With you there Bov.

BTW - I'm second billing to a Jack Russell!

Seriously, be grateful for the music room - 'allowed' or not, you got it. Hang the Bass in there mate.

I must be lucky because my wife never complains about my gear. Now THAT's a good woman. :D

I have an old Hofner and two ancient lapsteels hanging in the livingroom but my wife has drawn the line there. I generally have a little practice amp on a stand beside the couch but it goes if we have company coming. Generally have a Stingray and a Fender fiver beside the couch .My upright has a spot in the livingroom as well. Thankfully my wife has no problems with me bringing basses home.

LOL!

I'm allowed a maximum of two instruments in my front room, preferably only one. Amplifiers are not allowed. Neither are wall hangers.

You're not going to win this one :)

I'm allowed NO instruments within our front room:eek: but, my wife lets me have the garage as my practice space. IMHO -- I guess when it comes to a couple cohabitating and making choices together, anything is up for compromise  .just my $00.2.

My wife ASKED me to hang my basses in our music room so the cases wouldn't be laying all around to trip over. I love her long time. :p

im gathering from the thread that my lifestyle will be taking a serious hit some day

Usually, there is at least one bass in the living room. Right now, it's a green Bongo.

There are some keyboards, a guitar (strat) and a small amp up in the gameroom.

In here, the study, I see an Ampeg B-50R and some cables and a Stingray 5.

It's my house. I'll put my basses where I damned well want, as long as she says it's okay.

Well, my Stingray is now sat in the music room on it's stand minding it's own business.

The girlfriend didn't seem to impressed when i started playing and said "Can you play anything else apart from just twanging it?"! She needs educating i think. Unless i'm crap....unless she's planting seeds in my mind to make me think i can't play and i'll sell my kit.....oh my god....that's it, when she gets home tonight, both guitars will be on the lounge wall....along with her ginger cat...
