I got the bug to play again in a bad way. Problem is I dont have a suitable amp to keep up with kit/other guitars.

I have a 92 2 band stingray and a new sterling HS. Two very different signals if you ask me.

I like the idea of a nice little mark cabinet but dont have the ability to try one out where I live. I need you expert opinons on what would work for a little jazz/blues trio if I can only have One AMP!

Something that is great live and at practice that wont break the bank. Although I dont plan on buying many amps just the one.

Thanks for your help

New Liskard?! I grew up in Sudbury!

Hell, if you can make it to Toronto, you're welcome to crash @ my place for a weekend and check out the 100's of amps available @ the dozens of shops here

My GK Neo 1001/212 combo just got delivered yesterday. Messed around with it a little on my lunch break today. Tons of tone. Tons of thump. Then I paired it with my Ampeg Classic 15 cab and things about started falling off the walls. I couldn't be happier.

I second the Mark Bass combo. Club Bass in Toronto has them but give them a call to verify the models in stock before you come down. 416-538-1685

If any of you in the Toronto area know of good places to buy amps please let me know.

in Toronto, here are the places that come to mind:

Steve's music (i've been there recently and can confirm they have a large selection to try)

Long & McQuade (several locations, but the the one I linked to is closest to Steve's, and probably the biggest)

Twelth fret (a smaller selection of amps [but maybe the kind you're looking for] but a large selection of EB MMs!)

Markbass is nice only its big bucks, but if you got it, go for it. I like the Ampeg BA 15" or the 2-10" combo, (not positve on the names). They are more affordable and worth every penny if you're on a budget. They will definitely keep up at 100 watts and there is a 220 watt version with some effects if you want more. They have a good sound and will definitely make your Balls roar. (pun intended)
