anyone have any issues with their speaker cabinet rattling their amp head? i have a mesa single rectifier that when i'm playing at moderate volumes the vibration from the 2x12 cabinet rattles the output transformer slightly. i figured out it was this when i put my finger on it to stabalize it and it stopped rattling. just curious is this is possibly bad for the amp or just a bit annoying? thanks guys

Hey Estin, this might be a simple solution but try putting a small towel between your amp and your cab. Of course you might have something that needs looking into as far as your amp goes but in the mean time it might stop the rattle.

i took the amp chassis outa the cabinet a few times and looked it over and made sure nothing was loose. for some reason one of the transformers just seems to rattle a bit. its a mid 90's model so maybe after a bit of time it just developed this. otherwise the amp plays perfect.

Rattles drive me nuts too. I once wedged a block of wood in the back of a combo to keep the chassis from rattling. It was crude but it worked. If it gets too annoying maybe your local amp tech can fix it......or if you like I have alot of trees on my property......I can send you all the wood you need....:D

hey man, i folded up a bath towel, threw it under the head and cranked it up a bit and problem solved!!!! sweet!!! i'm now going to wal-mart to buy a black towel so it blends in better. lol rattles drive me crazy too, i go nuts trying to snuff them out. my 2x12 cab would rattle when i cranked it up a tad so i got mad and took the 1/3 back off, it fixed it and i decided i liked the sound better. for some reason the bass just seems so much deeper and richer with the cabinet partially open.

yeah no kidding, it seems amp/cabinet vibration is almost a fact of life sometimes. i researched it on the net and found alot of results. my amp sits on casters on a carpet floor, i also read popping out the casters and setting the cabinet on the floor can help too. ever try that?

Trying to think if I've ever owned an amp or cab with casters? If I have I can't remember but I probably would have taken them off just for the very reason for rattles. Also to put the amp completely on the floor to have more response. Now that I think about it Estin I had a Mark I years back and I think it had casters. I bought it used and whether it came with casters originally or not I can't say but I did remove them while at home. Heavy amp anyway for a single 12 combo!

I would like to cash in on this wood idea. Basically what I need is 6000 sqare foot "chunk" roughly shaped like a house. If you could send me that I would totally appreciate it. I will pay for shipping...
