whats up orange, I have a behringer midi floor board that I bought for 120 bucks new, I think its the 1010, to run everything but I wound up using the G minor to run through the different channels as I go through my set, its way easier, sort of like mini mouse, and I just go up a channel or two or down a channel or two to get the sounds I need, but my live sound is pretty simple, just some chrous and delay on the cleans and a tad chorus on the dirty channels so there isnt much going on for me -

I should be a certified tap dancer. Sometimes I like to screw around with different sounds during a song, like having a phase on a verse that wasn't there before or soemthing like that. Just to break up the dynamic if the band isn't carrying it self well. Too bad I quit that band.

Cool! I've always found what other people use to get their tone interesting.

My Sil Spec runs into...

George Dennis tremelo/volume-> Crowther Audio Hotcake-> M/B Maverick 1x12

in the effects loop I have...

Boss PQ4-> Boss NS2-> Akai Headrush

I love my Mav when I'm jammin at home I just plug the sil spec into my Hotcake then straight to the Mav thats it.

I plug my Luke 2 and my Axis Super Sport HH in a Tremonti Morley Wah, a Jacques analog Chorus and a MXR Phase 90, then to a Mesa Boogie MarkIV Head throught a Vintage 4x12 Marshall Loaded with 2 Celestions Vintage 30 on top and 2 Celestion G12H-30 Anniversary on the bottom, and finally a TC Electronic G-Major in the effect loop of the Boogie only for the Delays !!!

Ernie Ball Axis via Boss Flanger and Jim Dunlop wah into Peavey 5150 into Marshall 1960B(? the non slanty one) 4 x 12 cab, with the Marshall logo taped over because I don't like it. Also a G Major for effects run by a Behringer 1010 midi pedal board. I only tend to use the rack/board when there's space in my car (lousy drummers!!!!) but thats ok as I sometimes just like the guitar to be as direct as possible, however...

I'm kinda unhappy...

I've reached my limit with the 5150 being a 2 channel amp. Of course I was aware of that when i signed up for the deal but as my wants/needs for an amp have grown, I've just outgrown what the amp offers.

To my ears, its a question of dynamics and half the people I've talked to say I'm crazy for wanting a new amp (especially since I am keeping the 5150 for recording) and they either don't notice my problem or think "its a cool thing you do" but I just feel I'd get greater satisfaction out of a 4 channel amp, so i could concentrate on purely playing instead of additional volume swelling to adjust my level of dirt during songs. And i'm a bit too small to be carying two amps to rehearsals and gigs!

Its good to see the G Major getting some respect on here! It sometimes feels like I'm the only guy in town with a rack.... as small as it is....

Rivera Bonehead with midi mod
In the loop: boss tr2, EH Small Clone, Eh Small Stone, Ibanez DDR Delay, EBS bass reverb.

in front: Cry baby wha, Boss Tuner, EH big Muff, Ibanez Tube Screamer, RFX midiWizard

Now i'm planning to buy a G.major and put it in the loop and use the pedals only in certain occasions...

Question: is the g.major very complicated to use and program?

Thanks

Not in my opinion... I've owned a number of rack effects over the years, and the G-Major was the easiest to come to grips with - it helps if you are somewhat familiar with Midi, of course, and the manual's not the best, but there's a good forum on the TC Electronics website, and if you hook up to your PC via Midi, you can install firmware updates that add new functionality and features as they are developed...

As for my amps, well, there's a page about them on my website, of course, but the one I've been having the most fun with lately is my little Super Champ. It's a Rivera designed mini-Boogie made by Fender in the early eighties, and it just screams! I jack it into a 2x12" loaded with Celestion G75Ts at our rehersal hall and it hangs with the band quite comfortably - pretty impressive for an all tube amp that weighs in at something like 15 lbs! Great tone in the little beastie, too! and I love the fact that it's so easy on my back... (age, you know) :D

That Super Champ kicks the arse mucho!

Shop by me had one.....ohhhh I loved it so. i shoulda woulda coulda bought it but I didn't and i missed out something fierce.

I was thinking about gettting a G Major, and maybe selling my Recto Rig and some pedals to make way for a Bogner Ecstacy 101b Combo. Doubt it will happen. tho'.
