As a newbie to EBMMs, specifically the Axis, I'm wondering what amps you guys use/prefer, particularly those who play out live.

I'm currently using a Bogner Alchemist head with a 412 cab loaded with V30s. However, I'm thinking about picking up a Bugera 6262 or Peavey 6505 Plus to add to my amp stable.

Thanks.

Wow, that PBB Axis is freekin' killer. Love that finish. Cool amp too although I've never heard one I don't think.

Might be cool to see what style of music people play in this thread too. Although I enjoy most everything, I'm currently in a southern rock cover band.

The PBB and HK look great together!

I run an SLO-100 w/ 2x12 (eminence legends) or 4x12 (eminence X12000) depending on the venue and how much I feel like lugging around. I've played my Axis Sport through it several times, but more often than not I am using a JP or Gold Roller. I want to try a 6505 in the future, I've heard it will sound somewhat similar to my SLO

I had a Splawn Quickrod and then a Suhr/CAE OD-100 to nail the 80's/VH sound. Now I get everything with the Axe-FX Ultra.

My Rig

Hey all,
I run my balls through a Marshall JMP1 preamp with the JFX1 fx unit and slave it through a 1x12 Marshall combo(FX return) with a closed back.
I use this in my studio when teaching and it sounds GREAT!.;)
I will bump it with a Maxon OD808 for the EVH sounds.
I have yet to find anything at any price that sounds better(and I have tried about everything out there).
This rig works live too and when recording.
Sounds great with an Axis, Sub1 and my Morse.
Sorry no pics as its down at the studio.
Cheers

Gone are the days I had roadies (techs nowadays?) to lug around my Marshall 4 x 12 and 50 watt Marshall head, so I've gone with combos for quite a few years.
I use my Marshall or Mesa F50 for small venues (di' ing my AER for the piezo)
At small pub venues I use my 15 watt Fender Blues Junior which is a tad delicious.

Currently running a Bogner ECstasy 101B through a Marshall 1936 2x12 or a Carvin V3 4x12. Both cabs are loaded with a mix of Emi Governors and Man-O-Wars.

Cool stuff...thanks for sharing. I saw a band a few months ago whose guitarist used a Guytron with Tom Anderson guitars. Great tone.

1973 (like me) Hiwatt DR103, with a pair of home-made 2x12" cabs. One loaded with Webber Thames and one loaded with Celestion GH100 (I think)

I have a Mesa Roadster head with a Mesa 212 Recto cabinet, and some stompboxes. that's my 'A' rig.

My B rig is a Line6 Spider Valve 212 combo. Easy to set up, relatively easy to transport.

And I use a line6 Pod 2.0 at home for practising and learning.
