I have a 5-string SR5 in transparent white as well, bought in '93. In my inquiry in the Serial Number Database sticky thread, I was told it was one of less than 10 (SR5s).

The pick guard does not look original, as they were brighter with more of a reddish colour to them. Mine started to shrink and I ended up putting an abalone one on it that looks great.

I'm really happy with the way it turned out. I love tort too, but the blue-ish/purple grain in the wood goes really well with the abalone. The fingerboard on mine was originally maple. I swapped it onto another SR5 of mine.
