So just by the title y'all must be like "um, wrong forum!"
But nope! I wanna introduce to y'all knuckleheads "anake." As you probably don't know my great Aunty is a lady who's real name is Malia Ka'aihue but to the world she was known as Mary Kaye. Yes, for all you guitar enthusiast that name is familiar.. See, there a rather famous "strat" called the Mary Kaye named after her as she was a rather popular entertainer back in her day and Fender did a special guitar for her.. It was made in a translucent white, white pickguard and trademark gold hardware! With all that said and I being a endorsee/artist of ebmm I wanted to pay tribute to my family's deep-legendary history with the electric guitar by creating my own tribute to my great late aunt and my ohana (family) so I kicked the idea to Brian Ball and Tomas over at ebmm and from those humble beginnings this beautiful gesture of love, respect and honor derived.. So now I debut to the Ernie Ball forum world this beautiful piece of art called and lovingly named by myself "Anake" (Aunty).. Complete with all
The Mary Kaye style on a Albert Lee SSS.. Mahalo to ebmm for helping me and making this become a reality! So honored to be part of your ohana of artist also..

Gold hardware, at least to my eye, looks best with Mary Kaye type finish. This Albert Lee looks amazing!

The neck looks goddamn amazing; easily the best AL that I've seen. Gold Hardware seems to really work for it.

This baby plays like a dream as well.. The details are amazing all the way down to the alnico magnets in pups are cold finished.. I've had Specially wound pickups made for this lovely that my personal guitar tech was supposed to install but until we can figure out how to do the gold magnets we need to hold off.. Someone said to get a gold leafing paint pen and do it that way but I'm not to sure about that.. The next slightly bowed on the trip to Hawaii so a couple small quarter turn of the trust rod wheel and it was fine.. But since I've been home from namm I haven't used any other guitar at gigs.. And I've done quite a few already.. I'm eyeing on calling ebmm about a semi-hollow axis SS next.. :)
