A couple of weeks ago, I posted about how much I love my new SR5 LE. Everyone chimed in about what a great choice I made and there were even a couple requests for close-up photos.

Well, I held off on that because there was one final piece to put in place. That piece arrived today and it's now in place.

I have never seen this color combo anywhere but it is working for me!

Enjoy!

SR5 Facelift

In a similar change on my trusty 'ol Transparent White SR5, I have added an abalone pickguard. It really sets off the purple-ish grain on the body. I also swapped necks with a '90 SR5 bringing it back to a fretted bass.

I really like the way it turned out. What do you guys think?

Even though I don't care for gold hardware, I'd have to say that the new pickguard really goes with it!

Great choice, I actually dig that!

The more I look at it, the more I like it.

Mrs.sitonmybass is also not normally a fan of gold hardware and she likes it, too!

That's hot!

Like the look of them both!
Not being a fan of gold hardware myself either, i think it looks great with the new PG, it really sets it off nicely :)

I´m not a friend of gold hardware either.
But the PG´s are very nice and fit to the instruments perfectly.
Even the abalone on the sunburst covers too much of the nice body.
I bought a transparent pickguard for my Sterling 4 HH and it looks much better than with the black original.

That´s one of the reasons I play a 4string.
The other one is the shaping of the pickguard. I prefer the egg.

Thanks for posting pictures of beautiful SR5s. I wouldn't kick them out of bed for eating crackers.
