I'm going to follow suit and say that although I don't normally like the gold bits on these models, that body colour combo with the the pickguard is one of the nicest I have yet to see!

Top job

Thats officially on my list of the most beautiful SR5s ever.

And I think the gold hardware is great ... like the warm color.

I think that almost every time a picture of a MM bass with gold hardware is posted, there are comments about not being a fan - more so than any other feature/option. Maybe it's because I own a 2006 LE with gold hardware that I take more notice. Anyway, I find it interesting - personally, I love gold hardware. I think gold hardware is classy - and a refreshing change from chrome that's likely used on a very high percentage of all basses produced. Another common comment (or perhaps misconception(?)) is how gold hardware tarnishes more so than chrome - I have had no issues in this regard so far. I clean and polish my hardware - just as I do the body - which removes finger oils, acids and prevents oxidation. Just an observation - to each their own of course.

Yep! It made we want a bass in that color very bad.

Even more since I had the chance back in 2009 to get a Sterling 5 HH from Thornton Davis in this Color, but then came along the Stingray with the bfr neck.

If you want to give that away...:D

I remember when Thornton was selling that bass -- I looked really, really, REALLY hard at it and even exchanged PM's with him about it. That was where I first got the idea for the Baltic Amber PG.

IIRC, by the time I was ready to pull the trigger, he'd pulled it off the market.
