What a great looking specimen! What species? Also, is it molted fully yet? The two front left legs are a bit more yellow... But it looks full-sized otherwise.

Hey thanks for the interest! She's several years old now. At this point she's gravid so hopefully I get some little ones out of her in the near future. The species is Poecilotheria regalis. Common name is Indian Ornamental. They have very bright yellow and black 'warning' stripes on the underside of the first two pair of legs. This is a medically significant species. Here's a video of her if you're interested. I'll not embed since it's non-guitar related. She is one of a larger collection of tarantulas and scorpions that I keep and breed and sell to buy more balls. Haha.

You ever been tagged? As I remember old-world spiders, especially arboreal ones, are a lot more aggressive and dangerous...

Funny that... I can't stand house spiders. Really not. But that tarentula man... gorgeous. I also really liked the Metallica species. Stunning colors.

She is a big girl, and very pretty too. I've had just about every pet in the book, even a 12 foot Burmese python, but for some reason I could never bring myself to touch a tarantula. That python by the way, knocked over and snapped a Gibson Flying V about 20 years ago that would now be worth over $10K. The snake was lucky I didn't make a few guitar straps out of it.

Well thanks for all the nice compliments on her! She is a beauty for sure. Old worlds can be exciting to say the least. I've ha a couple of calls but never been tagged. I've been handling insects and inverts all my life though so I have good instincts when it comes to them. It takes a steady hand and patience. There are plenty of accounts of Poecilotheria bites on YouTube. They're always worth a good laugh. Ha.
