Hi all , Does anyone know how the screw less pick guard on a Stingray that was issued a few years back as i think but could be wrong ! an Anniversary model was held on ? And why it wasn´t used on regular production run Basses... cos it seems like a great idea to me....

Are you referring to the 20th Ray that didn't have a pick guard that was posted a while back? That was a lovely machine and I must admit I would be taking hammer to the piggy for that beauty :)

If I remember right it looked like the kind of pg used on acoustic guitars. Those are much thinner than the screw on type and held on with pre-applied adhesive and then heated with a blow dryer when applied.

Thanks for that info, it is much appreciated.... :) I sent pics, specs and serial number a couple of times to that web site a while ago now and it never ever appeared, And from what i can gather its based in Australia....Hope he´s OK, cos he must he must have spent hundreds of hours collating and publishing all that information...And if he does visit this forum and sees this my heartfelt thanks.....Peter
