So about a month ago, I overheard a friend of mine talking about getting a new bass. My ears perked up, and at the time he was planning on getting a G&L. Perfectly fine basses but that's not the point. So I asked him why he was getting a G&L and if he had ever tried a StingRay. He said that he liked how they played but that the sound was too "limited". To this I chimed, "Man, you gotta try a dual pickup Ray or Sterling!." and went on about how the versatility is in your hands, not in what you play...blah blah. So I see him last night at a friend's place, and what do you know....He put in an order for a Honeyburst HH SR4. Made me so dang proud.
