The V-Amp switches presets instantly with midi... get a midi controller and no more switching lag.

Great tip. I literally learn something new on this site every time I visit.

I think at some point soon I'll need to buy another amp though. I think my Axis deserves to be amplified with something a little better than a glorified stompbox. No offense to anyone who owns the V-AMP. They're great for what they are and they're particularly good for hearing a fairly ripping tone through headphones and preserving your marriage. :D but they don't even output with CD quality fidelity. Some of the amp models are decent but the clean sounds and the digital effects definitely fall under the category of "you get what you pay for."

I'm normally pretty purist when it comes to amp technology. I like tubes, the hotter the better, but there's been enough raves on here to interest me in demo'ing a Vetta. Maybe amp modeling's finally closed the gap.

I just got a Vetta a few weeks ago........my world has forever changed......do yourself a favor if you haven't already....try one and put it through the grinder and see. I was a true Marshall man until I stumbled on one of these. :D

I agree with your purist talk... I only use my V-Amp for recording, maybe some time for playing when the wife is asleep. Tubes are where it is at for live tone! TUBES TUBES TUBES!!!!

Just put new JJ tubes in my tubefex... *cream*

Hate to say it bro....but a TubeFex isn't a pure tube circuit. it essentially does the same things a V Amp or Pod does but they dupe you into thinking you've got a pure tube box.

It's more like a Marshall Valvestate....the tubes in those and those $99 mono mic pres don't really do much unfortunately.

dun dun duuuuuuuurrrrrrrrn :D

Think what you want about it, I own it. I have owned it for 5 years. Changing the tubes did have effect on the tone. And what is all boils down to is, I like the tone, it doesn't sound like a solid state.

Not to mention we're getting off topic. :p
