Ok, so im really enjoying using my 'goto' Ray for virtually all of my live work.
Im still learning on my 5s (only been playing 5ers for 10 months or so, unfortunately dont get much time to practice on them), so at the moment Im sticking to 4s for live work and Im using the 4H which I recently got.
We played two 1 hour sets, and the Ray sounded great. Full, aggressive/smooth with just a tweak of onboard pre, and plenty of clarity.
As we are a 'small band' with only three members, without any amps (I have plenty, but due to how fast we like to setup and volume levels I just use a Sansamp and DI) its so easy to setup. We always travel with plenty of space so I take my Ray in the high quality Mono gig bag (extremely padded). It isnt as safe as the excellent EBMM hardcase, which I would use if we were travelling in the van, but its good for these types of gigs.
The Ray just kicked...all night. AC/DC and Stevie Wonder sounded fantastic.
After we played, we packed down quickly and I put my bass away carefully. We went out for drinks afterwards, and once I was home, I just put the bass in the bag carefully laid down flat on my front room floor.
The next day I gave the Ray a good polish. Im a bit anal about keeping my gear mint, so usually I clean it straight away, but after a 10 minute clean down and tune up, it was back to being sparkly clean.
It needs a set of EB Group IIIs soon, but Im waiting until Ive done a few more gigs.

Cheers!
PS - I want a Bongo.
