Nothing much... just found a new convert from the F****R camp, while perusing the bassplayer.com threads this morning. Figure some might find this interesting...

I am what some might call a Fender J-Bass purist, so when I had to put my '75 in the shop for some mod work to be done (3 long weeks without my baby!), I sought out a bass to replace it for my gigs. I immediatley gravitated towards the American Deluxe series Fenders for a worthy replacement. As I was checking out the Victor Bailey 4 string, my sales guy told me to check out the new StingRay 5 with dual humbuckers. I turned my nose up at it, but he brought one out to me anyways. I had never even really played a MusicMan before, but I hooked it up and turned it on and I must say I was blown completley away. It gives a tone in variations that I have only heard from high end basses. It's really an interesting design well constructed and thought out. Needless to say, it's sitting in its case beside me as I type this entry. To anyone looking to buy in the $... range should check it out, Fender purist or not.
