Just wanted to do a quick intro. I've been playing guitar for the better part of 15 years and finally purchased a guitar I've wanted since I first saw the prototypes JP was playing during the SFAM live DVD.

A 2003 Mystic Dream JP7 arrived Friday and I couldn't be happier. I've wanted one of these since I played one in NYC when I was 17, but now finally came around to getting it. Great guitar, no doubt about it. It needed some cleaning up and the neck needed a huge amount of relief to be playable, but it's better than I could have hoped for. An added bonus is that the neck has some of the nicest figuring I've seen from Petrucci's of that era.

It's a really great guitar. I will be keeping my eyes open for a Blue Dawn model if a 7 with piezo ever pops up.

Took the guitar last night to get a proper setup by my tech. I was very close to having it just right, but being somewhat neurotic means always wanting him to look. For being 12 years old, the guitar is remarkable condition and now plays just the way I want it to.
