I have been bitten by the G.A.S. bug again............I have just noticed a couple of new colors on the Music Man site. Just wondering if anyone had any Stingray or Bongo photos in either Sky Blue, or Tangerine Pearl?..............Thanks!! :D

I don't think any have made it through the production cycle yet.

Randy Jackson played a sky blue Big Al H on American Idol when Mary J Blige covered Stairway to Heaven, but he's not subject to regular production limits. Head over to Youtube and look it up… there are some reasonably clear shots of the bass.

That's about it for available pictures right now, I think.

I hate that color on a Bongo.

Well, okay - not really, but I can't justify getting another Bongo just to have that color.

Can I?

If it's still available at the time, I am hoping that's the color of my future 5SSS maple fretboarded Big Al...

I'm afraid that wasn't sky blue color  , I think that color is discontinued, it was kind of pastel light blue color, correct me someone from EBMM if I'm wrong, but I can't remember right now the name of that one.

Here is pic of Randy's Al:

EDIT: ...yes, it's powder blue!

I'm also curious to see something in the new sky blue. From what I can tell (and I know pictures can be deceiving), the powder blue that was offered on the classics looks a bit paler than the sky blue posted on the MM website.

with White pickups! :) This is the bass I am going bongo over right now ;) There's a sky blue Bongo 6 on Bass Central's site and it would be perfect with a white pearl pickguard and white pickups.

I think colors like this and mint green for example only look good on certain bases. For me the shape of the body has to match with the color.

Having been an EBMM convert for six years or so and owned, handled and/or drooled over a middling number of MM basses, I can say the following two things with a high degree of confidence:

1) EBMM finishes tend not to photograph accurately for some reason.
2) EBMM finishes always look much better in person than in pictures.
