Is there any chance that the BFR options will be expanded to allow a choice of quilt vs. flame?

I'm interested in a BFR Petrucci, but I'm really not a fan of flamed tops.

The chance of finding one or more 'in stock' at a local dealer seems remote, so I don't think I'll be able to walk-in a buy a quilted one anywhere (specifically, in walnut burst).

So, do I have to sit this one out? I'm not complaining or questioning anything here, just looking for a yes or no answer to guide my decision. I realize that such an option adds complexity because of the additional build code combinations and other process issues, so I can understand perfectly why the option may never exist.

It's possible, I guess, but right now, no choice. It's one of the things holding me back. I'd hate for the guitar to show up and me hating the top choice.

I agree Steve.

Seeing as everyone has seen the Luke flamed and the F1 quilted wouldnt it be better to say all BFR Lukes are flame, all F1s quilt. At least that way EBMM dont have to have more options and the customer knows what they are getting.

In my case, Lou, it's the only thing holding me back. I mean, I know these are all '10' tops, so any flame *would* be first-rate... but even a '10' flame isn't a must-have for me.

Now, I've seen some guitars that appear (to my eye) to be a mix of flame a quilt.. and I must say I didn't mind that. Perhaps this is also why there's no option.. how would you classify a top that had both properties?

DaveB,

I'm sure that the sales will exceed EBMM's wildest expectations even with the current color-only option. They are beautiful guitars and people will buy them. I'm just throwing the question out there because I knew others would have the same question.

I certainly don't mean to 'petition' the good folks at EBMM, I just thought that perhaps with the mad rush to make NAMM that maybe we didn't get all the details or possibilites.

dont think there is much chance of that happening :)

My personal take on this though is flame vs. quilt is a bit like Coke vs. Pepsi - people tend to like one or the other!

When I put my order in, they put a note on the order saying "must be quilt!". I think the option of top should be addressed by the EBMM guys, to put our wondering minds to rest.

I'll tell you one thing, a flame would definitely make me sad :(

The only other thing holding me back is the Blue Dawn.

As of right now there is no choice. About 80-90 percent would be for quilt. The BFR backorder would be way over a year. If we could get the "10" quilt tops to meet the orders we would allow the top to be specified. The reason some of the Silhouette 20th's haven't shipped yet is because we gave the option. If you must have one or the other, you'll just have to do some window shopping.

Cheers

Thanks alot, now we know.

I'd cancel my order, but the shop I ordered leaves me no obligation to buy once the guitar comes in, so if it's a flame, it will sit on the shelves hehe.

Praying for a quilt!

I think that Dave b with his 60 days as a retailer is ready for wholesale.....

Kiddies the BFR is going to be a wait deal like Dargie said the backorder is already over a year. We havent even recd GC orders yet or many of the export customers.

I think that BFRs will be ordered by dealers like pete and you will have a choice from inventory.

A year already? Yikes, 7 months was too optimistic.

That was uncalled for, I am trying my hardest to promote your products over here - and I dont really think we should discuss this on a public forum.

Could you possibly give me another way of contacting you.

Right now the delivery times are up in the air. They will take a bit longer than the normal MM line. We need to see how many orders we get over the next few weeks. We have a figure in mind about how many per week we can make....

Thanks for the straight answers from Dargie and BP. Much appreciated. I can certainly understand the situation with the backlog potential. Thanks, guys! :)
