That was uncalled for, I am trying my hardest to promote your products over here - and I dont really think we should discuss this on a public forum.

Could you possibly give me another way of contacting you.

Dave

Dave I was kidding! Chill baby.

I really think that we should find out if anyone wants flame.......Figured wood is a bitch right now. The stuff at the namm show we were able to beat out guys on we had to pay cash on the spot or they would sell it to others.

It really would make our life easier if we just made one. This is the downside for trying to make everyone happy. Its like the Dargies if I hadnt let all of you order exactly what you want we could make one or two batches and be done.

How about a poll?

Also please understand that this whole BFR thing has blown the doors off of our expectations and we are having to basically redefine what we are doing ib the future. Naively I thought we could toss out these sell a few hundred and then play around and come up with some other cool stuf and sell few hundred and on and on...THe initial BFRs have been ordered in the thousands........

I think you should make the flame a standard on the Luke, and the quilt on the Petrucci. They just look best on the respective guitars, IMO.

Well, that's your call, BP! Naturally, I'd be up for a single option BFR Petrucci if it was configured with all my preferred appointments (i.e. quilted top, walnut burst)! :D

I didn't intend to stir the pot or anything with this thread, but if it comes to a poll, I'd plunk down a deposit this week for a guaranteed quilt on a BFR JP! :) I've even secured my wife's blessing!

YOu got your wifes blessing when she maried you. We have witnessses

The poll is fine...I appoint you pollster

The funny thing is earlier in the thread it was sugested that we wouldnt listen. From our seat we bend over backwards to make so many options it really hurts us and our delivery time.

Hopefully the poll will tell us more than you guys have a hard time coming to a consensus

BP,

OK, with your blessing I will take on the polling. I hope I didn't infer that EBMM would not listen to us. I just didn't want you folks thinking that I was questioning your business decisions, and I really didn't want to stir things up.. honestly!

I'm off to figure out the polling mechanism.

This is an interesting topic. I would've guessed about 50/50 on flame vs. quilt. Did Dargin say 80-90% would be quilt?

I'm really hoping we see these guitars STOCKED in some Guitar Centers in the next year or so. I think I remember hearing that MM guitars are in only about 15% of GC's 200 stores, as compared to MM basses which are in all.

Until that happens, I'll have to make do with Pete Dubaldo, who's turned into something of a music man MVP.

Dargin said that IF they took order specifiying what kind of figured top, the resulting orders would show an 80-90% skew towards quilt.

Lets just make all Blackburst balls a quilt :D

Ok! I have read this whole thread, and i do understand what has been said, but what you are saying is if i place an order from my local dealer let's say today the wait time is about a year to actually see the guitar?...Sorry for the dumb question i'm just curious, because it did not really matter on the top for me quilt or flame as long as it was bahama blue.

It shouldn't take a year....we don't have an ETA just yet, but as soon as we do we'll pass the info along.

i'm glad that there's been huge interest in the BR's, and that heaps have been ordered, good for EBMM!!!!!!!!!

I think i'll hold off on the BFR Luke, in the hope a BFR AL sees the light of day, but seeing there's been so many orderes for the JP and Luke, this may not happen till 2008! I can wait.

well that kicks some serious ass! rock on. im stoked.

i remember when BP told me about the BFRs on the phone one day. my imagnication ran wild and i was really stoked to see what theyre gonna be like. "seeing" them go from a part of a phone concersation to reading more details here to seeing pics then seeing them live & now hearing there's 1000's of order is rad. and, hell, im just a fan - i wasnt responsible for jack. im sure you guys are pretty proud :)

I think that Dave b with his 60 days as a retailer is ready for wholesale.....

Kiddies the BFR is going to be a wait deal like Dargie said the backorder is already over a year. We havent even recd GC orders yet or many of the export customers.

I think that BFRs will be ordered by dealers like pete and you will have a choice from inventory.

I'm trying to bring some in for store stock without spreading myself too thin, but over half of the BFRs I ordered at the NAMM Show have already been sold to eager beavers.

I'm actually liking the idea of a year long backorder on BFRs. ;)

Siggy Im sorry about the delay but we are trying to avoid this by not offering the abiality to choose which type of figured wood you get. THis added at least 4 months to your wait

BP i don't mind waiting the time necessary to get this guitar because it is worth the wait, but i would like to know what will be a definite ETA...Will it 10 or 11 months.....I know you guys are busy, but this would help me with my decision....Thanks
