I went to my local GC (Arlington, VA) yesterday morning to check out the deals, and there wasn't much. They only had four EBMM basses, three Stingrays and a Sterling, and the deals were just OK. No Bongos. It's probably good, because I certainly didn't need to be buying anything new, but if I had seen one of those 30th SRs on clearance I would have been sorely tempted to rescue it.

I was surprised, but it came on the bass. I thought they came with white ice originally, so maybe it got swapped around at the store. I think the rolls looks better with tort (or black) than the white ice.

My rolls came with black sliced bowling ball as standard (I don't know if that is ice or python or whatever), so tort went on mine immediately.

Sherman Oaks, Hollywood and Pasadena

Both the ones I've seen in the San Diego area GC's (San Marcos and La Mesa) were torted.

This, from the 14th st NYC GC, 5 string Stealth HH Bongo, a little over $900. They also had a Candy Apple Red HH 5'er, and 4 string HH. No sign of typical GC abuse not a nick or mark.

Congrats, man. That mofo looks badass. Mine should be arriving any day now from GC in Arlington Heights, IL!

Hey silverburst,

did you see a sterling hs in the hollywood GC by any chance? I was going to go there on Monday, but was afraid i was going to buy something and put myself into greater debt than I already am...

I keep coming back to look at this pic. I can't wait until Friday, when I won't need to look at pics of other ppl's stealth bongos anymore. :)

It'll bring 4 firsts for me: a Bongo in general, which I'm very stoked about; an HH config, which I've never had (single H only, in my past SR4's & 5's) - I imagine tonal versatility for days; an EBMM with black hardware, which I'm diggin; and a 24 fret EBMM!

Tracking info shows Friday delivery. Guess I gotta take the day off!
