On the topic of EVH and his problems, does anyone know of any good concert videos of EVH in his prime? I would love to see him when he had his head on straight, or at least when he had his chops in fine form.

I have a bootleg VHS of VH @ US Festival '83. The footage and sound are pretty raw, and Dave is f*cked-up beyond his already limited capabilites. Ed, Al, and Mike hold it down pretty well.

I don't watch VHS anymore, so you can have this one free-of-charge (as long as you're in the U.S.). E-mail your mailing address to me if interested.

Nope, I'm in Canada. And I don't even own a VHS anymore. But thanks anyway.

There's a forum called jamtothis.com (google it). They have loads of live vh bootlegs, stuff from all eras, even the rare 1984 era stuff. Some really nice Carnal Knowledge and Balance era stuff too if you're looking to see Ed playing his Musicman guitars. They're usually bittorrent DVD's. There are people there who trade offline too, if bittorrent isn't your thing.

I have a DVD from 1982 in Largo MD during the Diver Down Tour, I was at the show and picked this up in a trade. It's pro shot and PC authored. I believe it was Dave's birthday and they sang happy birthday to him near the end of the show. I'm not sure Eddie was feeling much pain that night either.
