Okay, so I fly out this Saturday (arriving around 8:45 that evening; check-in by 10:30ish in Mid-Town at the Millenium).

I've got that night, all day and evening Sunday, as well as Monday and Tuesday nights open to find (and participate) in a jam night.

CraigsList isn't offering much info, so do any EBF NYC locals know what the CL'rs don't?

Otherwise, the Bongo stays home this trip (one less hassle at the airports).

I've lived in NYC for a WHILE now and dont recall ANYTHING like that. I dont even have anywhere to play with anybody. My 2 guitars and amp barely fit in my room. I've had the hardest time trying to find some drummers and such, and still looking. I havent jamed with anyone for couple years now. Believe me man, if I had a place where to jam I'd be glad to jam. There is studios and such, but cost a good amount. PLus the place I know does not have that great of gear. That's my experince with that. I dont necesarilly LOVE living here  .

Yeah, I'm starting to get that impression. Pretty sad, considering that NYC is a major musical identity, with plenty of night clubs that could (and should) pick up the ball for weekly jams.

I mean, really...would it kill a club owner to have a jam night anywhere between Sunday afternoon through Wednesday night?

Guess I'll leave the Bongo at home this time around. That's okay, 'cause my cool-as-hell wife says I can shop for a bass while I'm there...and she'll front me the money! :D

Yea it is really sad. I mean commeon, they freakin closed down CBGBs to turn it into NYU DORMS!!! I have friends at NYU, and believe me they have ENOUGH of those. NYU basically owns all of downtown at this point. The sad thing is it is because of MY generation seems to be pretty retarded. The only clubs you are going to see now are those with chicks in mini skirts acting like hookers dancing to rap crap. Even some of the jazz and blues clubs cost like $20 to get in at least. The only place that I know of that is free and MIGHT be actually possible to jam at is Lucilles Grill which is next to BB Kings. It's part of it, but I havent been there that much. Anybody reading this can probably tell what a depressing person I am in such a WONDERFUL city. But honesty this place is not for me. I'm gonna be glad to get the hell out of here next summer to Bulgaria where I'll have 10 times more the fun for 100000 times less money. Anyway, sorry for my rambling. I'll just keep playing guitar to add to the 8 hours I've been playing today :D :) . Later.
