Question Any of you knuckleheads have a Suhr Badger Amp?

Dear fellow knuckleheads,

I stopped by at my favourite music store last night where a Badger 18 and Badger 30 had just arrived.
Since I had not planned to check out these amps I did not have my Luke II with me, so I had to use a vintage type Strat that the guy who runs the shop builds himself (which are really good btw).

I played both amps and I have to say: OMG :eek: !!!
These are some serious great sounding tone machines.

Seems like I liked the 30 might suit my needs better, but the 18 sounded killer as well.

Question: Does any of you guys own a Badger that he uses in combination with his EBMM/ Luke and what are your experiences?

Just got back from two weeks in Egypt ... catching up on threads :)

Yep, I've got the 18. Pretty cool little amp. I did have a Luke, so had plenty of chances to play that combo. It's forte is edge-of-breakup sounds. That and the clean sounds were killer. Very much a Vox-meets-Marshall kind of flavour. It gets a bit mushy with the gain cranked up (that's where the 30 is supposedly better). I had a BB preamp in front for gain, sounded excellent.

Is the Badger a "hand wired" amp (turret boards or on the "fly" style wiring) or does it have PCB construction (printed circuit board)?

Actually I don't know...
but you can check that out in the Suhr forum,
John Suhr pops by from time to time just like BP does here and answers those kinda questions himself.
