Looks nice.

EDIT: In light of what I posted below, I still think it looks nice.

How much is the bridge worth?

The tuners must be a part of the custom work that the seller refers to

Nice color for a fretless though

Yeah I know what you mean man....they look slightly odd....nice deep brown colour though,

Hmm...

"Upgraded with Schaller tuners"

It's never occurred to me to replace the Schaller tuners on my bass with Schaller tuners.

Aftermarket tuners, string tree, strap buttons, non-stock body. Only obviously original parts are the neck and bridge.

The seller says he thinks it's one of the earliest EB necks, but it has the capstan truss rod nut, dating it from 1988 at earliest.

The bridge looks to be pre-EB or from a NAMM 100th anniversary, being strings through body.

I don't think it's what the seller says or thinks it is.

EDIT: 1990 Headstock logo at earliest.

:D

My 0.02 is in agreement that there aren't many stock parts left on it and also that with the capstan wheel it can only be 1988+

Not bad for the £'s but I a) don't need it and more importantly b) wouldn't use it.

I doubt it will ever be 'collectable' I can see why MM Nut Dave is chuckling......

I think he's bought a second hand neck (without tuners and string tree) and built a bass around it.

EDIT: Cowardly benefit of doubt: ...or he's bought it in good faith from someone who did.

Heh--except the neck has a replacement fingerboard, so even the neck isn't close to being original. :D
Neck Looks right too me, I have a bunch from that era that look like that, but the bottom line is simple, I have custom stuff done to basses and it's not right to lurk someone else to think it's a custom bass, but it's no biggie, the pro guys know what's up , i'm sure it plays good, What's he want for it $300 US?? Well, the neck is probably original, but he says in the auction that the fretboard was replaced with ebony.

The bridge looks to be a '78-'79 based on the location of the string-thru holes. On the '76 to early '78 the holes are directly under the intonation screws.

The neck is definitely '88 or later.

No pics of the back, so is the body 3 or 4 or 6 bolt? And were the body and/or neck redrilled to mate up.

The preamp is a 2-band, could it be an early one or a later one or something else??

I could really use that bridge if nothing else...
