Any tricks for keeping your L3 boost knob tight?

Hey guys,

Every few months I take my L3 to my EBMM dealer to get the boost knob adjusted. Otherwise it stops staying down.

Does anybody have any tricks they use to keep the boost knob functioning properly?

You could try dropping a dab of loctite on the threads of the set-screw of the knob if it is working loose.

Too permanent with the loctite, IMO. Try plumbers tape instead. you're welcome!

Oy, edit due to what autocorrect did to "loctite"!

Blue loctite would work and isn't permanent.

This is what I use at SBMM:


It gives just enough 'tack' to hold it in place, yet is removable with very low torque/effort.
Great on saddle height screws as well.

Thanks, Brian. Is that roughly equal in spec to the purple Loctite?

I believe that it may be, but I'm really not positive.
This is the only one I've used/had experience with, and I've used it in vintage car restorations as well.

Well I have to give EBMM a shout out.

The volume pot is dead. My dealer called Monday. They sent out the part THAT DAY!

If UPS runs good, I won't miss a gig.
