I have had my SR4 LE for about 5 months now and the neck starting to wear in nicely. But something unexpected is occuring...nice birdseye patterns are becoming visible in the wood! I have never seen this before. Is this common? Are my eyes just going bad?? Is this just from staring at the back my 30th's neck and then at the LE? Is this a flashback?

Now if only this could happen to my SUB!!

It is a tad too light to photograph right now. Hopefully, it will darken....then pics.

Might I suggest a fly swatter. You're in bat country.

I've recently noticed the neck on one of my Rays is "developing" a nice Flamed figuring. It would have been there all the time...but just becomes more noticable as the Maple ages and gets a little darker.

Thanks for giving me some backing. I was beginning to think I was losing it! I guess new glasses might be in order! Makes sense....as more oils and dirt, etc get onto and into the wood, the grain would become more prevelant.
