Lovely clip that - gonna listen to that a lot and "pinch a few" phrases!!

Nice sound too!!

On the subject of amps there seems to be demand nowadaze for 18watt valve amps.
What kinda price do people wanna pay for such a beast (in a combo format?)

Glad you guys enjoyed the clip and site.

Spud,
My Soldano Astroverb head (18-20 watts) costs $1,100 new. I got mine somewhere around $650, in mint condition. I imagine the combo would be around $1,400. Nice head, but too focused for my liking. Does Allman Bros. spot on. Tons of headroom for 20 watts, and built like the proverbial tank.

I prefer head/cab over combo in this power range. Combos often have a 10” speaker (prefer 12”) and are often microphonic with long plate and/or NOS 12AX7 tubes, and the lower wattage amps often benefit from these tubes by fattening it up.

The tiny Epiphone 5 watt Valve Junor head is a steal for $100, shipped. Minimal in approach but with a sound that’s way bigger than the price. Takes pedals well too. Imo, great little practice amp. You get one volume knob, but three speaker out selections. I’ve heard it kicks butt on a quad cab. A surprising value. But don’t expect great all out distortion from driving it hard.

I loved the sound of 2x12 astroverb I tried at Pete's store! The only problem with it was the fact that only had 1 channel. But it sounded really good to my ears.

Well, I've found a Bad Cat and Matchless dealer in Belgium, but they don't carry any of these amps in stock...

I'm willing to spend around 1500-2000 euro (about 2.500 dollars max...).

I can't seem to find a TwoRock dealer in Europe however... I'll see what I can do with the Matchless and Bad Cat...

I'll keep you guys updated!
