Theres a great live DVD from NYC recorded last year. The band is tight and Paul’s voice is at its best.

Its called “Good Evening New York City”

Thanks for this tip browndog!
Stopped in to best buy and saw it there today. Watching it now. GREAT!

:D I told you A PMC concert is like traveling back in time, I'm really glad you liked it.

His band is indeed one of the best band he had. Ab Laboriel Jr on drums and backing vocals is perfect, not to mention his 2 guitarist Bassist that are just awesome in the pure Rock n' Roll style. Maybe Wings 1979 with Laurence Joubert and Dennis Laine was about that good (not even sure)

for me... being only 30 i wasn't around "back in the day" but this was a very special evening. I got to take my mom to the show who is/was a big beatles and McCartney fan... and it was the first time she had seen him and I could tell that she really enjoyed it. For me i think it was really incredible to see how the music is still... GOOD MUSIC and though i do appreciate the rock-n-roll of today... i really do enjoy the rock-n-roll of yesterday because of what it did for music.
the show was somewhere in the neighborhood of 38 songs and 2 encore performances... and great interaction with the fans. The last time he was in san fran was in '64 as Paul told us ( i thought it was '66 but who am i?) and there was a gal up from that had a sign that said "Paul i was there in '64... remember me?" and he read it and jokingly said "hey love... how are you doing? it's been sooo long... you look different though!" you could tell that he was really enjoying his time with us. Always a great feeling as a member of the audience to know that the performer is enjoying the time as well.
ABE was great on drums and vocals... and the rest of the band was spot on...

Keith, if you enjoyed The NYC disc, check out The Space Between US (from his 2005 tour), which I actually liked better than the NYC disc. Also, Paul's Back In The USA and Live In Red Square dvd's are fantastic; all worth seeing. My fav of the lot is TSBU though.

Perterd; see, I told you! Amazing.

he's been here in town a few times... but i was never in a position to financially afford it... but i was so very blessed to have a side job come in a few weeks prior and was enough to buy the tixs. I knew i would have to drive a few hours to get there... but so worth every second!

You are right, it was '66; The Beatles played their last concert at Candlestick, if I am not mistaken (unless you count the one on the roof of the Apple Records building).

Just saw McCartney here in SLC tonight. The show was one of the greatest I've ever seen in my life and if was a night I'll never forget. The dude is almost 70 and still sounds and plays killer.

Also for anyone who likes to and appreciates solo fingerpicking and fingerstyle, Pauls long ago guitarist LAURENCE JUBER has 2 amazing cd's of Paul and John's music. One is LJ PLAYS THE BEATLES and the other is ONE WING (Wings tunes). You tube vids to check out.

They just bring my appreciation for Pauls music to an entirely unreachable level by any other songwriter...except maybe donald fagen of steely dan.

BTW I think theres a story of BP and MUSIC MAN making an instrument for Paul. Cant remember if it was a guitar or bass...maybe an ALBERT LEE?
Maybe if BP sees this he can retell.
