Hey welcome to the forum!
I think there are a few guys here with OLPs. I believe they use them for beater or practice guitars.
They're not in the same league as the Music Man. They ONLY look the same. But they are great bang for the buck and maybe someday you'll be able to get the Real Thing!!!!
Hang around. Everybody here is great!! :)

hey thanks everyone for the welcome, someday i hopes to have the real thing, i have been playing guitar for about 20 years had some good guitars etc, but sold them off once i got married and had kids, to help pay for bills etc, when my youngest was sick and in the hospital, so my wife said time i get back into guitars, and i heard about the OLP guitars and said i will try one and good enough for the price to hold me over till i can save up for the real thing.... for the time being, i can read up here as much as i can on the real guitar, and learn alot more helpfull things...

Thanks Monster

Although I'd recommend saving for a good used EB, I am strangely intrigued by the OLP doubleneck (holding guitar vertically and strumming Dsus ala Pagey!) :D

I've got an OLP MM1. When I just got it it was a great guitar, but when I first played a Luke I knew a just HAD to have a real EBMM. Although it's a nice guitar for the money, it's nothing like a real EBMM. I only use it as a backup guitar now or to tune itin another setting.

But I have to admid: I LOVE that blue sprakle! ( I believe the MM1 isn't available in that color in the US)

Yup, I bought one to bash on and Frankenstien it. Good value for the $ for just hacking around on. Nothing can touch the real McCoy.

Are they the stock pickups on the OLP? Or are they Wolfgang ones?

I got an OLP....I sanded off the headstock to a blank and threw some satin laquer on it...the nut buzzes like a bumble bee on the e and b strings...have to replace it. Volume pot is also starting to get some dead spots in it. But dollar for dollar it's a great buy...but what isn't these days? I just picked up a quilted Schecter PT Custom (wanted something with a Les Paul scale) for ~$300. Quality hardware and binding up the ying yang. These Korean guitars are sick. Hard to bring your home grown (USA) $1200+ axe out to gig every weekend when it's one mistake away from gettin' bashed, smashed or wacked.

That being said, EB's play like silk and sound great. Whether it's worth an extra grand is up to the individual.
