Hi, I want to learn to play rock guitar but the difficulty is that it’s not possible for me to take private lessons on this and I am thinking of taking online lessons for this. Can anyone suggest me a good source where I can get the needed stuff for a beginner and help me further on to make a better rock guitar player?

There is a ton of stuff available on youtube. You may need to hunt around for everything you need, but there's lots there. Searching guitar lessons or basic guitar lessons or beginner guitar lessons can get you some good starting stuff.

I'll add that getting a beginner's book at any music store will help a lot. Understanding where the notes are and learning scales......you know.....the boring stuff....can help. Even if you do the boring stuff for 10 minutes a day and then the fun stuff for an hour, it's worthwhile. My 7 year old is taking formal lessons. I work with him on 10 minutes of practice of this daily. After that, I teach him anything he wants. So far, he's learning all AC/DC stuff....Hell's Bells, Back in Black and Thunderstruck. I was playing Van Halen's Ain't talkin' Bout Love and he instantly was interested and I started teaching him.

There are Youtube lessons for a lot of songs, once you get some of the basics down. It's what got me back into guitars after about 20 years off. A short list (from my faultering memory) of what I've picked off of the youtube lessons since February:
Sweet Child of Mine
Back in Black
Thunderstruck
Hell's Bells
Sweet Home Alabama
Walk this Way
Hotel California
Time (pink floyd)
pinball wizard
Layla (both electric and acoustic)
Tears in Heaven
Under the bridge
Breaking the Girl
My Friends
Walk (Pantara....learned to teach my 11 year old other son)
Panama
Ain't talkin bout love
Unchained

I'm pretty ADHD, so I tend to obsess over one thing in my life....helps with this actually. I play at least 4 hours a day now.

My favorite online instructor is Justin Sandercoe but there are other good ones (and a lot of bad ones).
