...that there's been a glut of Pets on the ol' ebay recently all in the Extremely Rare Mystic Dream Finish...hehehe. I've seen at least three auctions that have said that while there are at least two other MD's on ebay at the same time.

Oh and another thing, that same store I had issue with the saleskid's disparaging EBMM remarks at previously, this time heard a sales dude say:"EBMM Petrucci's...man those things have a severe case of shelf rot. They just sit here...." Ernie1966 methnks we need to head over there and straighten them out...

Well, I have a Mystic Dream as you know. Now comes the kick in the nuts...after getting myself situated with some money, I decided to head on over to the local GC where I mainly do my business. I know one of the managers there and they always cut me a deal and are really cool peeps to boot. I found out that they had a big inventory clearance. Unfortunately, I missed out. Well, today I go and I got the JP Rock Discipline DVD. Great stuff by the way. I find out, they sold a brand new Mystic Dream for................................................................................................................drum roll please.........................................................................................................$400 !!!! Yes, not a typo, that is $400. I about passed out. For that price, I would have bought it, then sold it on e-bay or what ever and made at least double. Oh the humanity. :( To make matters worse, dude, actually some kid (mom paid for it) was looking for a BC Rich starter guitar kit. Now, I don't feel so bad because that young buck will actually enjoy a guitar that feels good, looks good, stays in tune, and he might even stick with it. Hopefully, mom invested in something junior will appreciate. He is signed up for lessons there to start and one of the guys at the store said he plays it all the time. :D

So much for shelf rot. I just don't believe some salesman are really good at knowing what their product is. Maybe that is why EBMM JP sit on the shelf. I just believe people don't know about them like the usual names like Gibson, Fender, etc. Oh well, their loss, my gain.

Exactly my sentiment on the sales guys. Most large chains are more about volume than knowledge. But this was a guy that I've known for years. Not to smart is he? :D

$400? WTF Mate? How'd that happen?

Dude....I have no idea. I was floored when the salesman told me. In fact, it was my boy who sold it at that price. This one wasn't in an ideal location (hint...people could not play it much) and it sat there for a little while. He cut this kid a deal. They lost big time on that one! But, they are always busy, so you have to crack a few eggs to make the omelet I guess.

It has been sitting there for awhile. I don't think it sold because it was located on a stand on a 3 tier shelf with amps and other guitars in front of it. It was really a pain in the hindparts to get to. I climbed up there a couple of times to nab it and give it some love. But, I already own the same color. So, I put her back. They are looking to clear a bunch of gear, and evidently they did. All the Pets were sold, just one Axis left. Lot of other things went out the door cheap as well.

They did the same thing last year and I got a killer deal on a 10 track digital recorder with built in CD burner....Been reading the instructions since...hehehhe....but, I got it with 60% off, then my buddy throws in another discount. I mean, this was a brand new BOSS digital recorder! I felt like I hit the lottery!!
