heya all !! thought that i would ask anyone out there if they own a benji madden ernie ball guitar because i don't think that anyone has one??? anyways just wonder what would be the best ernioe ball guitar to get?????

Voodo, do a search there are a few that own the Benji guitar.

As far as what's the best guitar for you, tough for anyone to say but you. Locate a EBMM dealer that has some in stock and check them out, they are all awesome.

I have a silhouette special which is basically a madden signature with a trem and two more pups, you might as well get the silo and get the extra options -

really you can like get the benji madden with diffrent types cool i thought that there was only a benji brand but the brand looks simple so i might get a sil special thanks

If your going to be playing different kinds of music (metal, rock, blues, etc.) a silo would probably be a better choice. (more p'up options) The main reason I'm leaning more towards the Madden sig is I will be using it for detuned metal only. I have other guitars that cover everything else. So I really don't need any options. :)

I got to play one at the GC in Phoenix a couple of weekends ago. The neck is considerabally thicker than a sil special. The lack of controls and pup options echos the sentiment that "Limitation is the key to creativity" I really missed the switches and the whammy bar but that's just me. The brass knuckle inlay was cool. Also the green color identically matches the green color of the GC cables. I never really thought about it but color matching cables with a guitar was kinda cool. I also liked the fat heavy strings that it was strung with. I play 9's but when I grabbed the high E at the 22nd fret and bent it and made it scream it really sounded off. There was no mistaking that it was an EB. As simple as it was it was the best guitar in the store. It's not the guitar for me but then again neither is a sil special, Axis Super sport, Axis sport, luke, petrucci 7 string or Albert Lee. It was fun to play though.

so new Green Day stuff (from Warning till now) is mostly recorded with P90 pickups in Les Pauls (mostly Juniors) ... So, i have an Axis Super Sport with MM90's and i can come super close to Billie Joe's tone with that (non-guitarists wouldnt be able to tell its a different tone).

Older stuff is a Strat-ish guitar (named Blue) which he eventually thru a humbucker into the bridge (Duncan JB) ... so for older Green Day tone a Silhouette would be pretty awesome ... or even an Axis Super Sport with humbuckers, or even a Benji Madden

So to recap:
old Green Day (humbucker in start-ish guitar-> Axis Super Sport, Benji Madden or Silhouette)
new Green Day (P90 pickups -> Axis Super Sport w/ MM90s)

obviously you can't exactly nail BJ's tone cuz he's got a super modded set of Marshall Plexi amps, so you'll never be able to get it exact, but youll get close.

thanks my opinion ... hope its usefull
